SLE Research group Lund University

Research area: Epidemiology,genetics and long-term clinical outcome in SLE has been in focus for our research. We have also studied pathogenetic pathways in this disease with special interest in complement function and apoptotic mechanisms, including the role of complement system in cytokine production by dendritic cells. We have leading roles (AB, GS) in the development of new SLE-treatments controlling dendritic cell function and the type-I IFN system. We have taken part in the initiation and are active partners (GS, ON) in SLE International Collaborative Clinics (SLICC).
